چکیده

The chemical changes occurring during embryonic development have been studied by several workers (l-3). In the hen’s egg there is very little nucleic acid present, whereas a considerable synthesis of both desoxypentose nucleic acid (DNA) and ribose nucleic acid (RNA) occurs in the embryo (4-6). Recently, methods for the determination of purines and pyrimidines in small amounts of tissue have become available (7). It occurred to us that a study of the individual purines and pyrimidines in the developing chick embryo might yield important information regarding the composition of the nucleic acids. The present communication gives the results of such a study.

Nucleic Acid and Protein Changes During Embryonic Organ Development in the Chick †

The rapid acceleration of an embryo into an increasingly heterogeneous organism begins early in development with a flood of biochemical changes that accompanies the appearance and growth of organs. The nucleic acids, particularly the ribonucleic acids (RNA), are involved in these profuse changes although the manner of their involvement is only partly understood. We are attempting to define furt...

Changes in nucleic acid concentration during the development of the chick embryo.

Many investigators have been concerned with the changes in nucleic acid concentration which occur during embryonic development (see Needham (1) for a review of the older work, and Needham (2) and Brachet (3) for reviews of the more recent literature). However, they have had to rely upon indirect and largely inadequate means of estimating the concentrations of these substances, such as the pento...

Liver Histogenesis in Chukar Partridge (Alectoris Chukar) Embryo

Introduction: In chick embryo, endodermal component of the liver becomes split into 2 diverticula in a short time. The anterior diverticulum lies to the left of the ductus venosus and the posterior one to its right side. As the liver primordium grows, it is invaded by the embryonic veins. Based on the different incubation time periods and evolutionary origin of avian species...

Investigation on the teratogenic and embryotoxic effects of nanozeolite on chick embryos model

Objective(s): In veterinary medicine, zeolites are used as toxin binder in animal feed, ammonia purification of aquatic pools, animal smell and moisture control. This study investigated on the risk assessment of nano zeolite on development of embryonic chicken models, anomalies, tetratogenic and embryotoxic effects. Methods: Eggs (120 = n) were accidentally di...
